New TriAd fakes, beware!

They are faking the Vaquero too, just saw them pop up.
And the first video about those motherf*ckers counterfeiting the TriAd,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4a4aKrZggx4

what I find hard to believe is the stupidity of the comments made on the video, and the disrespect shown to the Cold Steel rep commenting on the fake.
Incredible sh*t-eaters, I am really angry

LOL at the wimpy little click when the "lock" engages.:barf:

i wonder how much weight the chi-ad lock can hold? if i wasnt supporting dirtbags ripping off a hard working american company....id be tempted to buy one to see how dangerous it might be.......

course a video of it failing under light weight might stop anyone from buying one. course it might not fail? who knows how good they copied the tri-ad?

I saw a youtube video a few months ago showing someone comparing a fake Rajah 3, and the fake one failed spinewhacks easily. The triad lock mechanism is hard to get right, so unless all the parts are exact copy from the real production version, the mechanism is likely flawed..

Contrary to popular belief, Triad lock is not just a lockback with stop pin. The lockbar pivot point is in oval shape leaving space for the lockbar to travel forward, and IMO this is the greatest strength. That's the feature that allows the lockbar and the blade tang to form a "hook" as they are angled so that they do not slip away under shock. Traditional lockback is not able to do that because the lock bar cannot move forward.

makes sense, thanks.

surprising the chi-ad failed a spine whack. would have figured it would have fared as well as a standard lock back or maybe a little better, as those chinese get better every year at copying/stealing..........interesting none the less. thank you Sir.

Yeah, I read somewhere (probably here) that they had to send Andrew himself over to the factory in Taiwan to help them get the production of the tri ad dialed in.

I thought about that too. It would be interesting to see how they're made. No way am I gonna buy one, though. Maybe the guys at CS will check one out.

There is a video from 6-8 months ago of a true Rajah II against a Chinese fake. The TriAd on the fake failed at very light batoning and chopping, while the true Rajah II batoned through three logs and chopped without any play, wiggle or lock failure.
It is in Russian, but it's one of the "recommended videos" that pop up in the column right next to this very video I linked.
