Well, I finally decided on a new camp knife. I actually ordered a becker BK7, and then decided to pick up a new Trident Oberland 01 with a 6.5" blade. Here she is!! (Not rust on the handle screw, just the pic.) I'll post a review when I get a chance to put her to some good hard use.

I love the look, but I'm afraid this one isn't just going to be a looker! ;) Some of that finish will be gone in the next week or two. :D

That blade finish loooks awesome, hope to hear good things in the review I have been thinkin bout pickin up that particular model.

I can't wait to take it on the trail and camping to see what it can do!

As for the TCFM-02, it handles great! A buddy of mine has one and really likes it. My next purchase is going to be a smaller bladed TCFM-02 to go on my pack shoulder strap while hunting.

I've got a TC-01 right now that is great, so I'm expecting great things from my Oberland! :)

What background did you use in that picture? That pattern reminds me of a sheath from the latest BLADE.

Thats the pic he sent me when I inquired about the knife. It looks to be the new Army MARPAT camo though.

Ah, Nice looking stuff. When I saw it on the page I though there was a printing error at first :)

Army ACU pattern.

Or ACUPAT.

MARPAT is used by the Marines.

:) I know some Army guys that would be furious if their camo was called MARPAT.

I guess my jarhead buddies would be pissed if their MARPAT was called the Army's.

Sorry for the mixup, and thanks for the correction! ;) ACUPAT it is.

I'm pretty sure the handle is shaped like that for gripping purposes as much as ergonomics. In any case, it is very comfortable and grips very well.

Nice knife mate. Have you got anymore specs on this, like weight, thickness ect?? Cheers, Nick..

That's what "ergonomics" means. Ergos = work, nomos = rule. Work ruled, or purpose driven. Ergonomics is the study of making something whose shape fits the use to be made of it.

I think some people have come to use "ergonomics" to mean 'rounded' or soft-edged.

I think of ergonomics as how well something fits what it's made to fit (like my hand). But just for good measure, "those factors or qualities in the design of something, especially a workplace or equipment used by people at work, that contribute to comfort, safety, efficiency, and ease of use" There the dictionary definition. :)

It was in stock. Check with him by e-mail for in stock, or call Citidel Gun and Safe in Las Vegas as they are the only dealer that I know of.
