New type belt grinder? Uses 2x36" belt

Koval Knives is the "well known knife supply company" I mentioned in my post that may start to carry the #8cw.

I think everyone should call and/or write H&B and convince them to start making the #602 in the US also.

FYI, evidently these machines have been used in Australia for close to 20 years! So I think the have stood the test of time. Don't ask me why it took so long to get the the US.

By doing some comparison shopping you will find that the Grizzly grinder can be delivered for another $85. It uses a 2X72" belt, already has a true 1 hp motor and is ready to accept buffing wheels on the other end. It may not be a Bader or Burr King but, IMO there is nothing comparable until the $800 range (I own one). With some slight modification, it will enable you to grind like a champ. You will have to practice though. For more information, do a search under Grizzly.
 
Kaos makes a very good point.
You should always price shop and compare what you are getting for your $. It sure seems you can get more bang for your buck with a Grizzly. I own one and I think it is a great deal!

I tried to post this correction earlier, but was experiencing technical difficulties. I misstated the price difference. The actual cost for the Grizzly is $335 (with shipping). Sorry.
