New Update On Hanna

This afternoon at school they had an assembly where parents were invited to discuss where the funds from the school fundraisers would be going. This year they are going to be selling bracelets with Hanna`s Hope on them. The profits will be split between Hanna`s family and St. Judes Children`s Hospital. They asked Hanna to get up in front of everyone and tell them about her ordeals with leukemia. Becky only found out about it when Hanna`s teacher emailed her about it, Hanna did not even mention it. The teacher said the parents were in tears.

wow. powerful stuff. sure sounds like they are in a great community. and, i'll tell ya what...sure sounds like this whole ordeal is teaching hanna to be a strong girl. speaking in front of an assembly at how old? amazing.

That's sad that a kid has to go through anything like that. She is having to be "adult" about things she shouldn't even be worrying about. Imagine how strong she will be when she gets through this.

Hanna and her favorite stuffed animal, Sheepy, in matching outfits. She has had it with her for all her treatments, if you look through old pictures, Sheepy will be in them. This was taken this morning.

Hanna is truly a special kid. I have a feeling that after she beats this, nothing will be too hard for her. Perhaps some day she will be the one that finds the cure.

Hearing things like this about your local school and community, Hanna's bravery, and seeing your photos of this sweet little girl is at once heartening and heartrending. Get through this, Hanna!

John I'm glad to hear your community is helping out also. That is great. I can only imagine the speach she gave. I have a hard time not getting teary eyed just looking at her pictures :). What an amazing tough little one she is.

Her teacher was amazed of Hanna`s knowledge of leukemia. They even had a question and answer session afterwards, with Hanna answering the questions.

You said it.

I may not respond to all of your updates, John. But please know that I see all of them.
Most of the time I am simply at a loss for words.

Well said. I wish I had been able to articulate this every time I've been at a loss for words in this thread.

You know what gets me, the fact this little girl has such an upbeat attitude. The whole jobsite I'm on is influenced. Everytime one of my coworkers and I start to argue, all we have to do is think about the battle you're facing and I instantly draw courage!

I sure hope your parents or grandparents show you this message. We love you and draw strength from you!

Love,
Jeff and the crew

JK, have you guys talked to a nutritionist ? Western medicine is pretty bad about fighting the cancer and not really paying attention to the battle field. There are a few diets out there shown to help cancer patients remarkably, and some supplements, like Juicing, and Cayenne. Obviously ask her doctors before you do anything, but say a raw foods diet plus juicing and the right vitamins and supplements might make a huge difference in how she feels and help her fight this off even better.
Its been gnawing at me thinking about her going through this, and I thought this might help at least make her feel better.

And if she doesn't find the cure I'll still vote Hanna for President!

Go Hanna! You're always in my thoughts kiddo.

Update from Becky

Hanna no longer has to go to Hope everyday! She is now going every other day for Erwinia shots and vincristine. Last week her ANC was at 0, fingers crossed that it goes back up soon! She is still in wonderful spirits & goofy as ever!
