New Update WE Esprit Titanium - Perfect EDC?

Alright, I may have gone slightly overboard on my first review, it’s not the “perfect” EDC folder for a few reasons but it’s still AMAZING and I’ll own this one for a very very long time. First downside I noticed is the titanium doesn’t do well with the slightest bit of palm sweat so this will still be a great option for fall and winter, no go in Alabama summer heat. Second is that it’s a little heavier than I’d prefer. I think those are my only complaints, other than that, it’s still a completely amazing titanium folder that I’m having a hard time putting down.

Now, the real update!!! I’ve been curious about the Quiet Carry brand for a while now and have wanted the Drift specifically because I’m a sucker for a front finger choil, titanium everywhere, almost 100% rust proof, made in America, Vanax steel, etc. I got one in today and I have to say that it might be as good or possibly better than the Esprit. It’s slightly smaller all around but still packs a blade that is close to the Esprit. Looks like first impressions are telling me this will be an immediate top 5 pocket knife for me, especially given the fact that it’s built to be almost rust proof. The Esprit gives me a blade length of 3.25 inches versus the Drift at 2.98 inches. I think the Drift does a better job than the Esprit for getting the most out of the blade for it’s size. The Esprit wins across the board regarding the action, the Drift has a good detent but it’s more of a manual close knife than a hydraulic or even drop shut close action. The Drift wasn’t super sharp out of the box but I got out my trusted strop and spent 3-4 minutes and OH MY GOD, it’s so sharp it would make a Spyderco Chapparal or a TRM Atom take a back seat, seriously!!!

Would love to hear if anyone thinks these are good head to head, apples to apples comparisons. If so, who’s your winner? I’m leaning slightly towards the Drift. It’s lighter(2.6 ounces vs Esprit 3.65 ounces), smaller, better looking(IMO), rust proof, and still gives me enough blade to take care of all my usual needs.

Lastly, the Drift is an actual acceptable name to tell people what the knife is when they ask about the knife rather than being forced to say the word Esprit when someone asks. I think I’ve just told everyone who’s asked about the Esprit that it’s a titanium WE and leave out the embarrassment of saying Esprit.

I hated my framelock Drift, which was so exceptionally sensitive to lockbar pressure that it was sometimes impossible to open; I sold it and got a G10 liner lock version, which is great.
