Well, this made me happy. :) A lot better than the junk from China they have in their current line.

Are they doing the manufacturing or does someone else make them ??

Thanks for bringing this to the forums---I like several of their offerings!!!

I to am curious as to the question asked above?

Sounds like it's them. He said they were employing 14 folks to make the US knives. I am glad these are coming out. They look nice and although I am not to fond of those saw backs, I do like the overall design of the "Heathen".

I like that nessmuk-looking one. I wonder if they're contracting them through Ontario? Build looks similar.

I thought the same thing. They do have an Ontario Ranger look. At least the slabs on the first two. The close ups on some of them had a TOPS look to them.

Glad to see they are producing wit a USA stamp on them.
I would not write off "junk from China" though.
I'm remembering Steven Dick in TK doing a write up on some of the new Camillus from China a while back. He thought they weren't too bad.

Sweet. I like the looks of that 'bushcrafter' style knife. I don't really understand what he meant by "It'll throw sparks right off the blade", though.

Some of the best news I have heard
all day. Thanks

Tops is in Idaho.....I like the Bushcraft one a lot. Otherwise great to see Camillus making stuff in the US but what about their more traditonal stuff too? A TL-29 and and an updated version of the "Demo" (“Knife, Pocket NSN: 5110-00-162-2205.” ) with traditional and modern handle and liner materials? Who knows?

TOPS isn't in Idaho, Rowen Manufacturing is. Willing to bet they copied ESEE and decided to play off of Rowen's rep. Buck is also here.... I'm torn on this one. I too like the bushcrafter alot, but in purchasing it, am I negatively reinforcing their China-made, copy-infringing practices?

It's still not Camillus to me. Camillus made Demo knives, TL-29s, Stockmans, and a kabarlike knife. thats's camillus. Not this tacticool stuff. However, I guess that's the reason they went out of buisiness in the first place. Failure to keep up with the times.

I still like that they are US made though.

Don't get all that sawback stuff but that Nessie just gets me all warm and fuzzy!!!!

Yeah it does. I wrote Cammilus and asked them when they expected the release of the Bushcrafter. Not even interested in any of the other offerings in the video but I am going to get this one to see what it's all about. Really an interesting although classic design.

I wonder what he meant by directly throwing sparks off the bushcraft knife. I guess he means by hitting it with a rock like on a forged firesteel.

Shamefully ugly knives, those tactical ones. The buffalo horn/damast is like makeup on a pig.
