I might have to get me another one. I'll still end up stripping it, I'm sure... but I'd rather etch the engravings and then strip it.

I like the new look. The BK9 is one of the best knives out there. I have an old one and I'm thinking about stripping the coating off.

Thanks, yea im diggin it. They make nice new additions. But I dont have any plans on stripping it until the coating is bout falling off from use

Nice, I also got a new bk9 last week. It is a sweet blade. Does your sheath have molle straping on the back?

How do you make sure you are getting the new version? I don't have a BK9 and want to get one. I'd like to see the differences if you don't mind.

Yes it has the molle straps. the new versions coating is different and the logo/emblem is laser ethched instead of stamped. i honestly prefer the stamps, but i like this coating more.


It fits in the hand nice, although its a smaller grip than the bk2, i might use some spacers to make it more thick handled. Its lighter feeling and quicker in the hands though. it will be fun to use, and i cant wait

I guess I managed to get the laser etched knife with the older style sheath.....Oh well, the blade is what counts and it's a beast and I love it.....congrats on the new additions.

Get the 9. It's pretty darn close to a one-tool option as you're likely to find. I don't have much desire for a Bk7 myself, I'm not sure where it would fit into my setup. Maybe if I handled one I'd change my mind but I just don't see myself needing one. Neither one is going to be discontinued in the foreseeable future so if you can't decide just flip a coin.

The new versions are laser etched instead of roll stamped and have a textured coating. That's all that is different I believe.
