New Victorinox limited edition Off-White

I get that it's an 'art knife' and a collaboration with a highly respected designer but it seems to run contrary to the simple, elegant functionality that the Swiss Army Knife legacy is built on.

I find it a bit sad that Victorinox think they need to release collector's pieces like this to stay relevant and in vogue. I wish they'd rather use their time and money to do some innovation for the every-day user.

I just had a brain fart.

Because of the hideously awful way the tools stick out, someone could buy one of these and modify it to have one handed opening on all of the tools. They could put finger holes on every tool like on a spiderco blade or the external knives on a Leatherman Wave. They could also smooth out all the weird angles to reshape the tools into something more sensible. You know, like turning a very expensive lemon into something slightly less stupid.

...but it's still $500.

Well, don’t be ’angry’ or ‘disappointed‘ or whatever with Victorinox over making this…’knife’. 😂

If I understand correctly, Victorinox essentially just built them.

If anyone pays them enough to build something they have the capability to build…good for them...good for us.

I doubt I’ll buy any new, because I doubt it would be worth the risk as a collectible item...and because I certainly don’t feel anything for it.

Though I am guilty of enjoying all the commentary about it so far here and elsewhere online. 🙃

So this thing is so expensive because it's weird?

Not good looking SAK at all.

IMO
