New video on Cold Steel Gladius Machete.

It cracked me up how right at the end as he stabbed a horn honked lol. I guess one thing I dont care for about Cold steel is that they try so hard to sell you a product. Price was 44.00 dollars on Cold Steels Website.

Yeah :P. I think it's priced around 50USD. I was thinking about getting this but am currently saving money for the Scrapizashi. I was reading about it this morning before work and fell in love. Curse being a college student....

Blade Length: 19"
Overall Length: 26 7/8"
Steel: 1055 Carbon Steel w/ Black Baked on Anti Rust Matte Finish
Blade Thickness: 2.8 mm
Weight: 18 oz (approx.)
Handle: 7 7/8" Long. Polypropylene
Sheath: Cordura Sheath

It's sold for ~$27 on the net.

It would be cool to play with, but that's not a practical machete IMO. Machetes are better with one side sharpened.

I also don't like how the South African company CS uses grinds the edge. In their manufacturing video, they show a belt sander, but when you inspect one in person, it seems as though the grind was done with a smallish wheel. In other words, it's concave, or close to it. when making a convex edge out of a concave one, you'll be removing much steel. I also don't dig the paint [even over the grind]. Machetes don't need to be painted.

Sweet. Still not sure if it's sturdy enough to take on the Visigoths or the Carthaginians, but Lynn Thompson has proved, beyond a doubt, that this new sword can handle even the most brutal cardboard tubes with ease.

Well, to be fair, the cardboard shipping tubes they use in these videos are more brutal than some thugs I've met. ;-)

If it was thicker it might be , no? I don't think the swords of those times would be much better than a thicker version of it.

it blows as usual with the Cold Steel videos. I am wondering who dares buying their products when you see their videos.

Lynn has his main cutting dude of about 30+ years fetching tubes for him...lol "gimme another one" ...... "yowsa boss"..... as he rambles on about his machete.

Also the sucker will come as dull as a conversation with your ex-wife's great grandmother. It always takes me forever to put a good edge on a CS machete w/o power tools. :(

CS machetes rust like crazy if you take the black finish off of them and any other solution would screw the price point.

I want one really bad now o.O say what you will about cold steel but you try and find a short sword for that price, good shtf weapon too.
