New video on Cold Steel Gladius Machete.

It's the rough surface finish. Most machete companies use a clear lacquer. CS (or Lasher Tools in this case) uses black paint.

My first CS blade just arrived today. A Bushman bowie. I wanted it for my BoB.
impressed with the quality for the price, And wicked sharp.
That machete thing is hideous but yet... intriguing....I want it, but I don't. I'm very torn here.

I disreguard all his stuff. Why dont he tell you he has them all sharpened before his vids? I am sure now someone will come out and say thiers came razor sharp. Well i just opened 20 of them at the shop and like all his machetes it is little more than a butterknife. If you actually look at his vids close on the spine wack tests. the edges are all ground off. If ya trust your contract fillers that make your products go the Second chance company pres way. Put your balls on the line and go for it. he proven a bunch of times his stuff works and how? he puts one on and shoots himself in the chest. maybe if Lynn actually made his stuff he would do that.

Just be honest and say you need to touch up the edge to do what we do in the vids. i would have more respect then.

I won't, I am not into this sort of knives.

I understand that some of the stuff is not as bad as the advertisment videos they made for it but still this company is a no go for me.

I have no experience with the machetes but for what it's worth a spartan or other big tri-ad folder would just laugh at a spine wack, edge ground off or not. In fact , there spines would just put a big dent in the wood for it's efforts.

Okay... Thanks for the contribution.

Is the Gladius Machete made with a full-tang construction? i would like to know how much steel is in that handle,

Machete? Really? Machete my ass, that's a short sword. Unlike any Machete I've ever seen. I want to use one to chop at a couple pumpkins though.

they will do the sharpening in house and should be a lot better than the factory edge

Edit: I read your post wrong, You're saying that Lynn's machetes are sharpened "in house" and are light years better than the factory edge - right....the "factory edge" is a myth, as CS machetes don't come with an edge...lol....which I find funny coming from a company who takes great pride in the sharpness of their knives out of the box.

Gotta love a machete designed after a stabbing weapon.:D

Methinks there was a reason the Romans toted around axes to do their actual camp building.

Or if you live in Maine you can walk wherever you want with it as long as you aren't waving it around in the air like a lunatic. I've carried swords before just to see if folks noticed or cared. Very few people even noticed, and the conversations I had with those who did mostly went along the lines of "Is that a sword?" "Yup." "Cool!" :D

Note: The above was done for social experiment purposes only. I don't recommend EDCing a sword. Pistols are smaller and work better. :p

Don't know the company, but sounds like you're saying the president of a company called second chance, which, from the context, sounds like a personal armor/bullet-resistant armor company, probably specializing in personal bullet resistant vests. Unless his vest is different from others, I believe that bullets can ricochet and slide... maybe I wouldn't buy from a president like that, as he doesn't value his life or not getting injured...

Zero

Probably better off buying from someone that has never tested his stuff, but you might get killed wearing it. That CEO would be displaying integrity to his family by not puting his butt on the line to literally "stand behind his product."

You are absolutely right about the machetes. Their knives, on the other hand, have always come very sharp for me.
