This is my take on the wallet knife, I was inspired to make one after the Vallor II knife thread earlier, It is made out of S90v (which was a $#%^& to file btw...) 1/8" thick, and has a convex grind, I was wondering how close I can bring it to final dimensions before I have it heat treated, b/c after that I will need to buy a stone and use that to finish it. As you can see I still have a little bit of dremel and roundfile cleanup to do but my hands were cramping up so I decided to go ahead and post it. Any critisism is welcome as this is my first totally original design :) also sorry for the crappy second pic, it was the best I could get of me holding it. also that's my dog the camera ham in the back  she always gets in front of the camera when it's out.

It took me a while to visualize what was going on there, but overall, I think I like it! Personally, I would soften most of the sharper points on the knife just for my own comfort. You did say that you had some more work to do on it, maybe you already had that in mind, or have done it and I can't see it in the pics. Your first totally original design? You should be proud of it. Looks like a lot of thought went into it. I'd like to see more pics when it is finished. -Matt-

thanks grease-man, those "point" are actually fairly round, but it is pretty hard to see that in the picture i just realized, I've had several people hold it already and they all said once they got used to it that they like it. I'm currently making four of them so i'll have to see how they sell

Good luck on that project, I hope they do well for you. I also meant to ask, when you filed the s90v, was that before or after it was hardened? Or is it just a bear to file in any condition? I don't know anything about working stainless steels. -Matt-

definitely before, i dont think the file would do anything after it was hardened, i've heard you pretty much need dmt stones to sharpen it even.
