New, Wanted to show my knives!

Believe me, now that you've found this place...the part in red is about to change.

I said the same thing prior to joining Baldeforums. 2 weeks later my wallet was $1,200 lighter, my fiance thinks I'm insane, and I'm considering a larger safe since it won't hold knives AND guns.

welcome!

Thankfully i don't have that kind of money to spend yet anyway, because I know I probably would if I did. I tend to jump into things with both feet first.

I've really been enjoying the Gerber Paraframe as an EDC. It's quite stiff, the serrated edge works well on rope or tougher things, it's sharp, it flicks open without the stud if you know how to, and it's light and slim eough to disappear in the pocket. Still, I'm always looking for something better and will have to get a fixed blade w/sheath combo a try in the future... I suppose it helps that I already always wear belts?

EDIT: Just saw a picture of a Cold Steel Ti-Lite, which someone mentioned earlier and I looked it up. Looks like my wallet is about to get light pretty soon, I WANT one of those. I see what you mean!

don't really like the paraframes too much. the only ones i've seen have been in pieces or missing screws. i have one of the crkt's, i think its the 13t, titanium half serrated w/ auto lawks, its nice, but i don't really like the secondary lock on it, became a PITA every time i wanted to close the knife. if you really want to spend some money, go look for a custom framelock ( lock is part of handle slab), for a VW, i had a schrade sharpfinger, upgraded to a tanto blade BUCK USA nighthawk half serrated, all black. a sharpened flat head screw driver works good too

i like the sharpened screwdriver idea :)

i had a CRKT with the LAWKS BS on it and found it annoying, returned it a day or two later. It was one of the compact M16 models, green zytel, black coated tanto blade. too small and the auto-lock system was obnoxious. So i got the bigger one.

The paraframe seems pretty stout to me, at least compared to the CRKT, but remember it's a $33 knife! expectations aren't TOO high and i don't feel bad about the shape it's in.

edit: forgot to mention, I picked up a Kershaw Leek the other day with the smoked red scales... great little knife.
