I love both of the StarBenza's and the StarTac. I think that the starburst pattern is not only beautiful on the knife but is also useful for a better purchase on it. It was a perfect collaboration, until now !
Other than die hard WC fans there is no reason to buy that knife, what a complete disappointment !
I'm about as die hard a CRK can as one can be but I can't help but feel like Chris slaps the masses in the face at every opportunity. I understand not wanting to be stale or stagnant and I enjoy when he brings new stuff to the market, but, he should still cater to the fans and loyal customers who keep him in the black.
After the horrible pic of the micarta 25 was released droves of people voiced their disappointment, no matter. How about a Damascus Insingo, no, why not-seriously. How about a Damascus tanto, we've been told it's in the works by Neil but alas, no release. How about a Green Beret without the damn serrations, nope! Really, it's saving you a production step( money ) and I'm willing to pay more for it; doesn't make any sense to me.
I'm grateful for what I think are the best pocket knives made, hell, I own 14 of them right now, but why not give the people asking for these things what they want, they used to do pretty much custom work !
I understand full well he can run his business any way he pleases and I respect a man that can keep a business alive in a sad economy, especially a business that sells high end things that most consider a luxury instead of necessity ; I've voted with my wallet to prove that somewhere around 30 times, even after a phone call from Chris where his answer to his team messing up my knife was "It is what it is Mate".
I'll stop ranting now, you all get the point.
