Hello Everyone,

My name is John Jones and I have been reading and posting on this board for a couple of years as pike3e. I have created a new account, linked to my new website email, with my name and purchased a knife makers subscription. I just wanted to thank all that have assisted me in starting to learn this craft and I look forward to continuing to post and learn with this new account. I also put my website online yesterday. I used the service through Chris Crawford’s blademakers and highly recommend it. Setting it up and adding and editing info is very easy. The website address is in my signature line below.

Hi John

Good start on the website. Here are a few things to look at for starters:

1. Background is too busy and makes reading hard.
2. In the Knife related Information page I would put everything in there directly, no need for a link to a few line of text.
3. Shop tour page should be narrower. Not everyone has a monster monitor and scrolling from side to side is a pain. (you can also use some auto-resize in relation to display size but it is more complicated)
4. Picture on Maker's profile not working.

Sorry forgot one thing. Put a HOME Page link in your side bar or else there is no quick way to return there.

Yes, the backdrop definitely has to go. As soon as my head stops spinning from trying to read over that backdrop, I'll take a better look at the page with the backdrop disabled. If you're using Firefox, you can disable the backdrop by clicking view > page style > no style. It also makes the knife pictures bigger so you can see them better. Not sure how to do it in IE.

Thanks for the input. I already changed the background. I thought the original pattern looked like Damascus, but obviously it was too visually distracting. I have already emailed Chris about the sizing on the shop tour pics, hopefully he will have some manner to get it looking more organized. Also the formatting on the Knife Info page is just how it is setup with the blademaker format. It is not ideal but is only an extra click or two. I will also be adding a more interesting or relavent pic to the front page, when I get one.
