New Wegner design by Blade-Tech!

I haven't seen the Emerson hardwear line, but I would say the Blade-tech would kick its ass. S30V, G-10, dual nested liners.

spyken,

Not sure why you keep getting ignored.

If you have emailed them, and no response, just call their number at (253) 581-4347.

Try calling at (253) 581-4347. I would say they were busy due to the SHOT show.

I knew you would love it. I was not exaggerating when I said this is one awesome knife.

Is Blade-Tech planning on producing the kerambit?

Blade-tech very well may be a force to be reckoned with in the knife industry.

Dennis - man, I do love it a lot! The other night I went out for steak after SHOT and that was the first time I used the knife. Oh man, it is a great cutter. Needless to say that night I was accused of being a "knife snob" and not using the restaurant's steak knife :D

Tim's improvements are minor but the saying is true - little things mean a lot. The Spyderco C48, while it was a great knife, was a bit on the clunky side with the full length back spacer. The Blade Tech version is more refined than the Spydie one was. IMHO Tim has a real winner on his hands...taking a great knife and making it even better.

Agree w/ you all, one of, if not, the best from Spyderco....too bad discontinued. Still use mine daily - work, field, kitchen...lost one earlier to my son who just needed to "use it for a while".

Great pics, production overseen by its designer...can't get any better than that. Now to contact Blade-Tech and get me two or more....

FYI Forumites

We are awaiting boxes and Laser etching. Knives should be ready to ship in approx two weeks. I have been working with Imperial Schrade to get the chosen name officialized. I am now happy to say it is now officially the "Wegner Professional Hunter".

One last thing that may be of interest. Alaska Fish and Game contacted me at the Shot Show and will resume purchases of logoed
knives for their field agents, especially those working in the "Alaska Hunter Information and Training Program".

Thats all for now!
Tim Wegner

Just wanted to add my kudos to Tim for the refinements on the Wegner Pro Hunter. The basic design is classic functionality and the refinments have made it both easier to carry and even more controlable in use. I was lucky enough to get a matching serial number set of the G-10 and CF knives at SHOT. They also will be offering the Mouse in G-10 - can't wait. Blade-Tech will be the main source for these, so I doubt if you'll find them heavily discounted on the internet.

**changes keyboard and clothes**

I found the small wegner from spyderco a bit awkward do to little tip use. Never got to handle the large. I have a feeling I've got to do some saving to buy one myself. 4pos clip, linerlock, open spine? (think homer)uuuhhhhhhhhhggg.....

I got a carbon fiber version on Monday. Thought I would post a pic of it.

edited to add that the carbon fiber version is still drilled and tapped for tip up or down on both sides. You can't really tell from the pic.

That's good news. I have always like Wegner's design. Glad to hear that it has made a dramatic return.

They are recessed. Both are also nested like the Spyderco Military, which has only one liner instead of two like the new Wegner. :)

All right, that's it! I went and ordered one today - The G-10 version. Can't wait to give this one a spin. I love the idea of easy opening and complete ambidextrousness in the design - and all the other good stuff in the prior posts.

Aloha, folks....

...the FedEx man paid me a visit on Tues....got two knives w/ G-10.

My old spdy wegner is now retired....these knives are everything you all have written it to be and more. The "small modifications" really make a big difference. One has to handle them to really appreciate the design. :D This in now my edc.

thanks, Tim!!!!
