• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Just received my new Wetterlings hatchet from knifecenter. NICE! doesn't really suffer from any of the [minor] issues that people talk about. head is nicely aligned with the handle, no crude secondary bevel (there is a hint of one on one side, but the difference in angle is miniscule and is really just cosmetic - will take only a few minutes to file out). Edge is just a little thicker at the bottom than the rest of the edge, again will only take a few minutes to touch up. Handle is unfinished (which I like - lets me play with it a bit). The edge is pretty sharp - which is where I like my axe blades, no sense making it shaving sharp just to roll the edge. Sheath is supple un-dyed leather, maybe a little too supple for belt carry.

One question though - there are a few radial cracks in the wood around the locking ring. Is this okay? I assume it is, but just want to check.
