New wheels, new wounds!

aaahhh Nick, what a bummer man...:o your first ride, on your new bike too...
it was definitely an eye-opening experience on injuries in the woods... luckily we weren't too far in the backcountry... this is also another great reason to not ride alone... you never know what can happen...

drop me a line if you need anything man.... Cypress and I will go and chill with you...:D

I bet if you were alone you wouldnt have attempted the jump. Looks painful man, hope you heel fast.

Nice bike man! too bad about the injuries though.
I just got back from a 5 hour trail ride with my POS bike. I wish I could afford something like your santa cruz.
heal fast and get back on the trails!

Thanks for all the love guys!

Worst part about it, is it wasn't even a big jump, in fact it barely qualifies as a jump, and the crash I imagine wasn't all that spectacular. I just went over the bars and rolled. Us big guys just fall hard I guess...

fortunately no gear (knives or bike) was injured that I can tell, lol. haven't had a chance to take complete inventory yet though.

OUCH!

Bad Wreck (survived) = Good Scars + Great Stories. :D

I used to ride a lot, but I never had skillz. :o
What I did have, was an insane roommate/riding buddy who used to do downhill racing. I could never keep up with him on the trail, so whenever I heard him crash, I would get off of my bike, walk to the scene of the accident and get out the first aid kit as needed. That system worked pretty well for me. ;)

Wishing you a quick and complete recovery, my friend!

I gotta have some kinda stories to tell future grandchildren. Right?

I dont ride that much, so i surely dont have any skillz, If i did this thread wouldnt exist...

Ha, thats funny! Thanks

Damn! You just went over the bars????

Jeez you mustve landed just right, or wrong I guess! :o Crazy... Ive been over the handlebars manny times and never got hurt like that. Makes me think....

I remember one wreck where I hit an erodid section of trail...I hit it hard! It sent me over the bars, and the last thing I remember was being on my back, and watching my bike in the air as it fell straight on my face. I woke up a short while (probably 30 seconds) later and was seein double for a few minutes. Crazzy...:o

messed up thing is, after I wreck, Im more worried about if I broke anything on my bike then any bones. Priorities I guess. :D

Ouch!

Yeah my first thought was if I messed up my bike especially since i just got it.

I know, it figures I would do this just as summer is starting, now all my backpacking, fishing and Mtn biking plans are gonna have to wait.

Owww! Sorry to hear about your little run in with the dirt but I wish you a speedy recovery. I really gotta get out on my Mtn bike soon too. My wife's been bugging me for weeks!.
BTW which Dell Inspiron is that? It looks exactly like my E1505.

I wish you fast and complete recovery bro !
I hope that you'll be back on the trail soon

Were the words: "Hey, Mike, watch this!" involved?

Please say no.

Glad you weren't hurt any worse. Broken pelvis must absolutely suck donkey penis. GWS!!

Thanks for all the well wishes guys! I cant wait to get back on my bike, gonna drink lots of milk.

Lol, all dells seem to look the same. This is a 6400.

Not familiar with that model. Mine's the E1505 with the Core 2 Duo T5600 @ 1.83GHz processor.

Nice bike too BTW. I've got a KHS Crest and my wife's got a Norco Katmandu. Neither has the higher end xt and xtr components. I was slowly upgrading parts when I was more serious about biking but that has dwindled a bit in recent years.

Anyways, you got a great steed bro, and now shes broke in proper. ;)

I bought a new bike last summer. I had not ridden for a while. I am trying to take it easy so I don't end up in the same position. I am not the young spring chicken I used to be.

Oh man. Thats suck Bro! Here wishing you a quick recovery!

I can't imagine what your wife said.....
