No calipers, but it looks to be right at .25"

Not a monster chopper by any means, but it balances at the front of the handles and feels great. I am looking forward to getting some time in the woods to try her out. I borrowed the sheath from my HOFSH. I believe this one is going to deserve its own so I am currently working on ideas for a full time piggyback with it. Probably with the pumpkin warden.
 
Sweet Thanks, that set should make for an awesome woods combo. And the orange handles would be hard to lose if dropped in the leaves or on the ground. :thumbup: ;)

haha, they may not be pretty, but I don't think I will ever lose one of them and I should have no problem beating on them. The FSH is great. I loved the looks of the smooth bolts I had seen coming from some recent shows and had to have one made. If only someone made orange canvas micarta blanks for handles then it would be an even better user. I am a big fan of canvas micarta on my user knives but have not been able to locate any orange canvas. Must not be a big market out there for it.:foot:
 
JD, might I ask why you picked the saber grind over the flat grind on your FSH. I'm familiar with the flat grind fsh but have'nt had the opportunity yet to handle a saber grind fsh.
 
Aesthetics plain and simple. I really liked the looks of the saber grind on some of the recent FSHs I had seen. I have a flat ground HOFSH and like it too, but I like this saber ground one even better. I am very happy with how it turned out. Whether or not it will cut better or worse than the flat grind I will just have to find out when I take it into the woods.
 
Great set there Joe :cool:, smooth hand filling grips are my favourite....I have linen micarta on my FSH and know what you mean about them feeling slightly more comfortable .... "warmer" somehow ... but your smoothed G10 and smooth bolts must be "very" close I suspect ... let us know how that HHFSH chops :thumbup: Looks to be a great combo for the woods ....:thumbup:

I hope we see some more of those S5SE's in orange as well ..... definately want one for a Scuba/PFD knife ....

I know what you mean, Bruiser (Blue/Black G10) bit me like Pumpkin has bitten you. Some beauties you have there to be sure!

Just an idea that would save you a liver is to buy a pumpkin BWM while they are available from Busse direct and hand smooth it yourself... with a convexed blade and a convexed by me edge this thing chops almost as nice as my FBM LE but nowhere near as nice as my NMFBM LE

Oh, now that is Perfect! great combo and great color choices... solid bolts are the way to go
 
AZTim, I almost ordered my BWM with orange but I ended up with just black on black. While I do like the BWM, I do not have an FBM yet, so eventually I am gonna have to end up with one. Birthday is coming up, so I have a pretty good idea of what to get myself....
 
One day, one day I'm going to get one too, I must have one.
