I just received a TOPS Luc Burnley designed Whisper with a kydex sheath made by Luc himself and it is simply amazing. I know it's not what traditionalists would call a bushcraft knife, but it fills the bill for me perfectly. The handle is linen micarta and it is super comfortable, the blade is 4 5/8ths of 1095 differentially heat treated, 3/16ths thick and wicked sharp. I don't care for blade coatings but I found a happy medium. I lightly sand the roughness off till the blade is smooth to the touch and just wait for the rest to wear off. It shaves fuzz sticks like a bushcraft knife should, it sparks like crazy with my light my fire ferro rod, it handles all my food prep both at home and in the field, and it's a kick-butt self defense knife as well. Dang near perfect so far. Any other owners or comments? ...Jim

Who cares? It's whether you like it or not that matters.

BTW, unless you're careful, you're going to go on the 'he doesn't supply pictures' list.

This is the TOPS Whisper:

Nice looking knife.

I'm working on it. We just got a digital camera and my wife is going to help me download some this afternoon...

Interesting looking knife. I like the handle and blade shape but I would rather it didn't have the false edge. A smaller choil wouldn't hurt but thats not a big deal to me.

As long as your happy with it everything else doesn't matter. I'm in the same boat as you about blade coatings, I just got my first coated blade and its growing on me.
