new work out wiped me out

That's real good going Riley, I am useless at pullups I must start doing them again !!!
Do you do yours with your palms facing you or away from you ?
You probably already know this but one of the best secrets when you are stuck at a certain weight is to add real small amounts each session....I'm talking of like using big washers from the hardware store not small weight discs as even a pound is too much of a jump when you are at a sticking point !!!
 
Hey there RR i just found there is a crossfit not too far from my home. Im going to check them out next week. Another good thread if you ask me.
You seem to know about workout alot. What other work outs would you sugest?? I use to practice kung fu every day. But ended up hurting both knees very bad and had hard time walking for about 3 years. Anyway i have weaker knees now and to top it off i gained 25lb and WAY out of shape. Anything that you know of that i can do to help strenghen my knees???
Thats my weak link my knees and that im out of shape compare to what i used to be.

Sasha Are your Knees injured??? at this point or just weak from prior injury?? if you are sporting a chronic injury such as a torn meniscus you're best bet would be to seek professional help at a high leve like a physical therapist...if they are just weak from an injury that now has healed it is reall hard to beat squatting (no weight is needed ) walking lunges ( no weight) and lateral lunges ( no weight) go slowly and smoothly as applying the breaks to quickly will likely aggrivat the knees and see how it goes..I'm no professional but feel free to email me. PitDog...I usually go palms out unless I won't be able to do curls that day.. I feel palms out trets the back a little more and I'm a big believer in having strong legs and a strong back. Good idea about the washers..I tried upping it with 2 lb increments but it was too much..Thanks a bunch, This is another fine example of why I love this place.
 
As for me, I'm starting out with JUST the washers :D One day I'll add a plate to the bar...:p

Reminds me of the potato sack workout... every morning lift a potato sack over your head as many times as you can... when you can do 20, start putting potatoes in it... :o
 
Thanks for killing me Riley !!! After you going on about pullups I thought I had better start doing some again but as I can't get many reps I did the modified jump/pullups as on Crossfit. I don't know how many reps or sets I did but when I awoke this morning I could not lift up my arms...my lats are sore,real sore !!!:eek:
I have trained chest and shoulders today and I think I am loosening up a little again !!!:thumbup:
 
nice, Nothing like a good feeling of soreness.....A buddy of mine is training for a government law enforcement physical I've been having alot of fun putting him through the ringer...
