New work

NO way is that paracord wrap staying on that blade. I'll send you some nice wood, if you don't have any. Do that knife justice!

I think we were all trying to figure out how to say it. I erased a paragraph a few times yesterday. I don't know your supply of wood so I'm not gonna offer to send you some, but I will send something else ;)

I think the wrap looks good (aside from the finishing knot... sorry, Sammy) The guys around here are a buch of "wood-pushers"..... lol.

It's not that I don't like the cord, just not in the kitchen. Bacteria and food particles will hide in there and you won't be able to wash them out. I wonder if you could use a different cord and waterproof it?

It looks a lot like a kitchen knife but Sam did say that he plans it as a belt knife.

So Rick: Does that mean we all have to give you your first piece of wood for free? :)

Yen it's totally not a kitchen knife.

Oh Matt Gregory, I know it's all part of your plan to give me wood :D. BUT SRSLY, this was not a venture into serious knifemaking, just a fun weekend project. Plus, what I would have to do to make scales fit on the handle, i'd have to grind the heck out of the tang because I put a bevel all around the border of the tang so i'd have to grind that off, which in turn however would correct the bevel grind running into the handle on the one side. Then it would be all polished and no hammer marks left which was not my intention. I may as well just forge another and forge it with the intention of putting a real handle on it and polishing all of the faces, then it would work.

Sam, stop blowing smoke. You know that you're not going to put a real handle on it.
