New world record rainbow trout

Wow! Thats the fattest trout I have ever seen. Thanks for posting. Its not the kind of trout I like to pursue, but interesting none the less.
 
Man, that thing is a beast. It looks like it has some gland issues or something.
 
He caught that on 6 pound test?! Must have fought it for an hour at least, what a fish.


Oh, and I predict a run on Mepps Syclops spoons any time now!
 
34 inch waist on a trout. Good golly, watch yer jooles swimmers.

While we're here, what's the biggest fish you ever caught?

Mine is a 36x24 salmon I caught during the fall run when I was around 15. I don't know how much it weight since it was released.
 
That boy will make some nice cash if those manufacturers pick him up.

Six-pound test seems almost ridiculous for a fish like that. If true, it must have been out in open water with absolutely no snags in sight.
 
Hey, that scale just shows a weight and no fish.

They might just have a couple sacks of dog food on there. :p
 
That is one giant trout.
I have a photo of a 33lb brown trout that was caught in 1935 in a little town in Tasmania called Deloraine.
It could never be entered for a record because it was caught by scooping it out of a river pool that had been dammed up while a road bridge was being built nearby, and not on a line.
The fish had been in a freezer in the local hotel pub bar for 50 years when I had my photo taken with it, and was a little worse for wear, but it was a great talking point!
