The XMs have NO fear of these tools. Or coins for that matter. If I don't have my Hinderer armorers tool with me and need to, these tools can and have been used to remove the pivot assembly.

To each his/her own.

I do recognize most humor, the emoticons help. My statement may read a bit differently than it was intended. Such is the drawback and limitation of the written word.

Maprik, I got lucky, thanks for your support and for this thread. My XM-24 is SO smooth, it flies open. Doesn't stay closed to well though, I guess that's ok. This thing will be a perfect out of town (or bad part of town) EDC :)

I love the orange, but have no complaints about my carbon frag, otherwise our 24's are identical twins. Sorry I couldn't do a video, but suffice to say it is an amazing experience. The blade is thick and beastly and I love the semi-swedge on the top, it's a really good looking knife that feels great in the hand!
 
If you feel like the detent is not strong enough send it to Rick and have it checked. Or maybe the pivot is too loose?
 
Hello i am new to the forum and i just bought a ZT 560, it made me realize i have to get an xm! I just can not decide between the 24 or the 18.5 can anyone compare the sizes between the 560 and the 24 because the 560 is no problem.

You can tweak it pretty easily, you can bend the lockbar a bit inward more than the current setting (obviously you have to disassemble to make that happen and move in small increments to avoid overspringing it) and you can tighten the pivot as well just the smallest amount (and use mild loctive or Vibra-tite to keep the pivot setting). These two actions should help it stay closed better without negatively affecting the smoothness and flipping ability too negatively if at all.
