What are your new year's resollutions? Mine are

Finish more projects, don't start new ones until old ones are done

Get fit IE swim at the community college

Refine my hammering techniques

Expand my forging techniques

get seriously into damascus

get a grinder going and finish the 3/16", 6" fighter ive been filing.

thats about it :D

Sam , get fit ? Just do a couple of laps around White Lake each day !!

Work harder at becoming fluent in Japanese. Finish more knives, gain greater control of my hammer blows, set up my tatara and retort. Eat in the morning without feeling sick.

Just to thank the Lord that I am still here and able to be with the family everyday...Then thank him for letting me play with fire and hot steel.

Bruce

Get rid of stubborn belly fat and build the upper body of Arnold.

Actually if I could just get some knives made I would be happy.

Make more knives this next year than I made in my first year of knife making =) That shouldn't be too hard since I've only made five knives =P

That and eat better, and lose the 10lbs i gained between thanksgiving and new years !

Get the hell off 12 hour rotating shift work in 2008 after 22 years of it.

Stop breaking bones.

Do more of what I want to, and less of what I have to (in and out of the shop)!

Most importantly, spend less time working, and more time with my wife and kids.

Now that's a dandy and all that any of us really need

One of mine is to get better at my forging too. I have a long ways to go but with the help of you guys it should be do-able :)

Happy to thank God for a new year, knowing he will be there through it all. Some other things I need to accomplish is.

1. Put some new landscape timber down on side of home.
2. Stop smoking.
3. New Knife designs.
4 Inproving my Photo's.
5. Send photographs to Blade Magazine.
6. Update my Knife Shop with some new equipment.
7. Work on one of my mini Barnes.
8. Love my wife more than she love me.
9. Help some one in need.
10. And to see all of us here to be one in spirit. :)

I'm just happy to be here and pounding on steel. That said, there are some things I plan to make sure I do:

  1. Be the best husband I can be to my wife
  2. Keep working on my degree, no matter how much I don't want to
  3. Keep improving the quality of my knives
  4. Make a concerted effort to understand and improve on the design of my knives
  5. Continue to meet more makers and learn all I can
