I'll be staying in NY for a couple of days and my instinct tells me to go buy some knives:D, but I don't know where to go. If somebody has an idea I would appreciate.
P.S.1- I would like to go to a store, not online ;)
P.S.2- If I couldn't post this here I'm sorry, I'm kinda new to the forum.

Quite frankly you probably won't find any knives in that wasteland. The D.A. there has been outlawing all locking knives lately so most stores are too afraid to sell them anymore. As for you carrying a knife, bring a slipjoint it's the most you'll get away with.
 
It so shows that you're new here, so welcome.

Most people that have been here for a while will tell you that NY is the last place they think of when they think of knives.
 
I live right on the border of queens and l.i. And luckily, outside of Manhattan, it really isnt all too bad as far as carrying. Just be sure its 4" or under, isnt an auto or bali, and is single edged. Never had an issue myself. For stores, you really have to go to long island. The most you'll find in manhattan is sak's and victorinox and not much more within the other boroughs. Not exactly the best state to go knife shopping.
 
Mastersmiths on 403 E 58th Street (between 1st Ave and Sutton place). And you can get a terrific Mojito in the incredible restaurant they built right under the 59th street bridge (assuming the place is still there).

They have a HUGE inventory of chefs knives, and also carry others as well.
 
You can get knives and gadgets at the Museum of Moden Art (MOMA), but you NYC isn't really the place to buy knives unless you want to pay too much or buy kitchen cutlery.
 
Yes, Paragon does, but it is only one showcase of knives instead of the 5 that it used to be.

Everything is more expensive in NYC, I know the last thing I would want to do is pay 30% more for any knife you can get online.
