Just wondering. I will be there friday morning. I'd say to look for the ugly 25 year old with long hair, but I just cut it off (thats right STeven) so most likely I will wear a CKCA hat.

I am broke and won't have any knife purchases to post. However, watch out Coop because I will dig up something to send to your light box.

Hi Jon,

Thanks for the note and the phone call. Yup, I am still readying to leave in the early AM.

It will be interesting to see where we will be this year. We won't have the larger hall on the third floor. Steve D'lack (the promoter) tells me I may be in the show hall as well. Cool!

Haircut? Goin' mainstream... ;)

Man, this is a tough croud.

See you there, Chuck and Coop.

Coop, I'd say more.. hassle free, then mainstream. Haha.

Slow as hell show but I had fun and pulled some tricks through trading. I had two knives photographed which I will post eventually when I get them. Unless Coop does.

Good seeing you Rob, Coop, Chuck

I got to fill in for Gary Levine and Cliff Parker when they took a break but unfortunately was unable to sell anything for them. I'll have to work on my table skills. ;)

Frosty. It wasn't much of a show. Not bad, but very slow with collectors and not many makers or dealers. I saw some a bunch of Barry Davis knives that really struck my eye plus a few others. A little bit for everyone.

Kind of makes you wonder what effect the combination of the bad economy and the abundance of new shows is going to have on knife shows in 2009.

I wasn't there but a report I got told me there were quite a few people but not much in sales. I was also told there weren't many makers? This seems odd to me, for a D'lack promoted show.

I do believe there are way too many shows but the two NY shows are established and in a large population center. Not encouraging to hear that it was slow!

Hope others that were there chime in!

Huh?
The place was packed.
I was there, 8th in line, at 12:30.
There was the usual number of tables with no knives or just a photo album manned by the big guns, who were, more often or not, wandering around socializing.
A bigger crowd than I remember on the Friday last spring.

It did appear as though there were one or two rows of tables missing from either end of the room. I can't be sure, since I didn't count back in March.

Only saw one table with reduced prices marked by signs.

I'm heading back in an hour or so.

Different folks reporting different opinions as to show attendance is becoming the norm.
I wish show promoters would start announcing attendance numbers so we could get a real feel as to the state of knife shows.

Other venues such as sporting events, conventions, musical shows and so on generally report attendance.
