* 1 in 6 uniformed members of the NYPD are Detectives. A Detective’s (3rd Grade) average earning is $100,000
*1 in 7 uniformed members of the NYPD are Sergeants. A Sergeant’s average earning is $100,000
*1 in 20 uniformed members of the NYPD are Lieutenants. A Lieutenant’s average earning is $122,000

I believe that makes for roughly 30-35% of the force earning 100k+ a year. If accurate, that sounds pretty darn good to me! :)

Yep, a married couple would have a household income of $200,000, roughly 400% higher than the national average. By comparison, only 19% of American households earn more than $100,000.

Maybe you forgot what they say about tone of voice over the internet.

I spent many decades in the US military ... I'm a retired 'lifer.'

And you won't catch me disparaging the police or firefighters. Those are hellishly difficult jobs and they are definitely life-threatening.
 
This thread is locked. I will not have members insulting each other and disregarding the rules of this forum. This started out as a civil discussion and quickly based on the actions of a few who chose to forget what forum they were posting in. You are lucky I'm tired and had a long day otherwise my infraction button would be very busy tonight. :mad:
