New Zero Tolerance Knives Pics

blaster4, that is a Tim Galyean custom Junk Yard Dog.

You can see more images of his incredible work here:

There are a couple Kershaw production versions of this pattern hitting the market now. A search here on BF's should find you some threads and images of these two knives.

BTW, Tim heads up our R&D dept here at Kershaw Knives, Kai USA.

3/16" is correct.

Actually it is not the RAM lock, but an off-shoot of the RAM lock. IT is a patented scale or slide lock by Grant and Gavin Hawk. Smooth operator for sure.

So how does a scale or slide lock work? Also, what is the blade stock thickness on the 500, and finally, do you have a street date? It intrigues me. :)

I wasn't really interested in the MUDD folder until I realized that it has the cool features. It would be great to use H1 steel on that.

ZT is the best production knife line out there period!!!

Couldnt agree more. If you are paying more for a production look to ZT first. Thanks for the info Thomas, I dont know if I missed the info in your post or if it was updated later. I know the MUDD isnt an auto, I was just telling Artfully it wasnt. I have wanted a MUDD for a while and this is on my next knife list now.

Thanks again for all the great information here, Thomas.

Is there any estimate for when these beauties are going to be available for purchase? The boot knife and the Hawk RAM both look very tempting.

Unfortunately, I seem to have Zero Patience when it comes to waiting for knives I desperately want.

Is this part of Kershaw's new marketing strategy? Post great pictures of new models and work us all into a frenzy while we wait for the knives to become available for sale?

It's working.

Wow!

Tim Galyean I really love your Outbreak! http://galyeancustom.com/images/outbreak1a.jpg

What materials are used?

Thanks, glad you like it! It is a model that I have stopped making.
I used S30V and Titanium on that one.

Ok, how does that lock work?

The lock on the MUDD knife works very similar to a "Bolt action". The locking element engages a pin in the blade instead of the tang like the Bolt Action does. Just simply pull back on the slide to release the lock. This lock configuration is one of the many design features that make the MUDD completely sealed.

Thank you, sir. I'll wait for you guy's to put that model in production. That JYD is calling me. I carry the 0200 now and by the time I get the 0300 hopefully that JYD pattern will be on the shelves.

Thanks

P.S. Mr. Galyean, those are some smokin' knives

Does Zero Tolerance means the knife cant tolerate anything?

Does your signon name mean you can't spell?

Tyco, Glad to hear our strategy is working. ;)

As far as delivery, we are not that far out on all 4 of the new ZT patterns. They should all (limited production) be starting to hit the streets in March.

blaster4, FYI,the large JYD model 1725, is shipping in limited quantities this week. The smaller JYD model 1720, will be shipping over the next 7-10 days.

Leave it to Tim's designs to interupt a thread, now back to ZT.
