New ZT 0560BW - Beautiful knife, but brutal detente

Lol I know what thread you're talking about. I have an 0561, similar problem. Try taking the pocket clip off the lock bar. Switching it from tip up to tip down will help because the pocket clip is pushing in on the detent, it's under pressure. I did that and flipped it and it broke in. It broke in so much I put the pocket clip BACK to tip up to make it flip better. Hope this helps.

Cakes, took your advice and moved the clip. I believe it did make a difference, seems a little easier to break the detent and flip it. And after repeated flips, I think it is already easing up some. I don't think it will be long before I am moving it back like you did. At least I hope so, because carrying tip down feels weird! Don't think I have to worry about it opening in my pocket, though. Thanks for the suggestion, and for all of the other suggestions.

And Rev, six strings are enough for me, 10's Ernie Ball Cobalts, any more strings, even though run right with the others, could only confuse me! Do love the sound of a 12-string, though.

Ok, just a quick update for anyone who is interested. Took Cakes' advice, moved the pocket clip, flipped some, and as long as I keep everything off and away from the lock bar, the knife is now flipping like I had read and expected it should. Some more break-in and I expect it will be the smoothest flipper I have, as good as (or maybe better than?) my Mini Division, although I don't have to worry about hand placement with the Mini Division, which is a really cool knife as well. (I know, mentioning the maker, or probably his products, is somewhat verboten here, but I like to live on the edge.) Great knife top to bottom, very excited about it and very glad I got it. Thanks.

Glad I could help. I do the 'push' method, it flies out. After a while it wasn't flying out as nice, and switched it back. You'll get the hang of it. I learned the push method on youtube, search how to flip a hinderer.
