this flipper looks amazing.

the texture on the ti/g10 is incredible and looks very ergonomic.

i cant afford this blade but when you guys go to blade please post pics of every part of this knife, im lovin it so far and hopefully ill get one some day.
 
I've been lurking and watching this thread, more than any other thread, ever, since becoming a Blade member.
I'm very excited about the Flipper,but have decided to continue to hide in the shadows.
And remain low-profile.As usual.
So this is a non-post.

I think at Blade, you'd have to fight Rick and his crew to get that proto out of his hands! Have to wait like the rest of us I'm afraid. :(
 
Maybe they'll raffle off a couple of protos for the lucky ones in attendance. Unfortunately, I won't be on of those lucky ones going. :grumpy:

so I have been watching this thread for a while, and I have a few questions.

Is there a model number for this knife yet?
Will this be a regular production blade, or just a limited run?
Is it safe to assume that this knife will be relatively the size of the umnumzaan?
And will there be different colored handles like the 03XX series? I thought that there might be different variations judging by the picture with the black and brown scales but have not seen it mentioned anywhere in the thread.

If there are answers someplace in the thread I am sorry that I missed them.

Thanks for replying thomas, one more, when will we be able to actually buy this knife? shortly after bladeshow?
 
So if the measurement of the door is 5.3 inches from the edge of the hinge, it would be reasonable to guess that the slab is over 5 inches long. The left most piece looks to be against the edge of the hinge (or at least closer than the other two). If it isn't against it, it is no more than 0.1 inch away. The end of the slab is at around 5.2 inches on the scale. That means the slab is approximately 5.1 or 5.2 inches long.
I'm not sure if the Umnumzaan is also against the edge of the hinge, it doesn't look like it. It definitely does not come as close to the edge as the new slabs. The Umnumzaan looks to be at least 0.2 to 0.4 inches shorter.

Of course the two doors may not be the exact same size and all the crazy distortion from matching the photos may throw off the measurements a bit. :p

For reference CRK lists the Umnumzaan as having a 4.77 inch handle and a 3.675 inch blade.

I'm still guessing the blade will be longer than 3.75 inches and hoping for 4 inches.
 
I hope no speed safe either on this one. Anybody try their bearing system in case we get it? I like the idea but don't have a bearing pivot knife.
