I'm pretty sure Thomas wasn't bluffing when he said another week :(

I wished he was bluffing though.

Thomas has been tight lipped about what's been "holding them up," only that they were "down" so we can only wonder why and wait.

You could write it in your diary instead of here. Things happen. You're disappointed about a few week delay when this sprint run was basically made for us? Thomas is a busy man and can't live on the forums. Also, there are probably a dozen other things going on at the factories that require attention. Sometimes these feelings should be kept to ourselves instead of making them public.

I have run machine shops most of my career and shit just happens. Sometimes it takes a week to get a new motherboard for an NC machine or if the machine is under warranty the service is typically not same day and then again there are spare parts issues. Just one perspective. I am looking forward to the knife as I am #13 on kershayguys list but the knife will get here sooner or later. I am guessing it is not like any of us is in desperate need of a knife.

is there a place that kershawguy posted the pre-order list? i think i might be on the bubble between "in" and on the standby list

I only have like 237 knives right now.....I desperately need this knife really bad!!!:eek::eek:

No updates from me..sorry...I am really anticipating this knife to come out too! More on the side of I cant wait for you guys to get it in your hands! Your really gonna like it! But, I have been really busy lately, thats why I still havent gotten that video made...I did say something to Rob about it this morning so maybe we"ll try to still get it done...I took my 0550 to a Tactical training school over the weekend and showed it around and of course used it! It carries as well in the pocket as it is easy using! Even while rolling on the ground after being shot in the role playing portion of our force on force senerio...haha fun stuff!

Rick

Mr. Hinderer, would it be too much to ask for a few comparison pics of the 550 and an XM? I've held a 3.5XM... might be nice to get a feel for the dimensions (and overbuilt-ness) of the 550...

Let me just throw out a hypothetical...if Walmart came along and asked for 50,000 pieces I think I might stop the boutique runs and make their order happen. Just sayin...it's business people...smart companies follow the dollars and priorities...

Curd brings up a good point and we all seem to have lost sight of the fact that Thomas decided to accomidate the folks on this board with a pre-production sprint run. Nice of him wasn't it. I'd say very unusual thing for a business to do.

When he decided to do so I would guess he had a spot on the production calender to slide the 551 into. One unplanned machine outage and the production calender's tighten up and getting a "unplanned sprint run" through will slow down. He's got to meet his regular schedule afterall.

I'm reluctant to complain about the delays since this sprint run is strictly a favor to all us knifenut. That said I'm really ready for this knife. :)

This is what I like to see, people that think things through logically before they make off the cuff comments that tend to hurt feelings and make things not so much fun. Good job to you guys ! I am not going to post the pre order list anywhere, that would not be cool, several of you have emailed me to reassure your selves that you were indeed on the list, that's OK, but if you got confirmation originally that you were on the list, you are on the list, nothing has changed, I do however understand anxiety, I also am in that camp, Ha.
