Hey im new here I do own quite a bit of knives tho. I am a survivalist sort of hippy hunter guy and I need a knife a knife that i can maybe wear on my belt and wont look like a freak a knife that can cut down a small sapling and a knife that can do the little stuff too. i sorta hate carrying around a lot of things in my pocket so i dont wanna carry around a little victorinox and like a machete on my back i just want a knife thatll look halfway decent on my belt and can do heavy and little stuff.

Nice name, hippy.
Welcome aboard.
There is no knife that can do everything, BUT you might want to consider getting a hatchet, which is small and powerful, AND a very small knife that can fit into the same sheath, piggyback style. I'm sure you could get someone to do it. That way noonewill think anything. You've got a hatchet and a small knife!
OR something like this:

OR you could get one of these:
(but they are kind of expensive, if you need one, email me)

ICANTTHINKOFANAME,

Go to the H.I. Forums here under the Manufacturer Forums.
Yangdu has daily specials, or right now clearence sale on many khuks.
You might find for $ 50-60 a cosmetic blem or discounted 15" Ang Khola (AK) or a BAS (15" British Army Service) which would fit your needs.

Yangdu posts the sale items between 1 pm - 4 pm EST.
Be quick, because the "sharks" will grab the "meal"! Some of them are gone within minutes of Yangdu's post.
You might e-mail her if she has additional khuks in similar price range.

You have to e-mail to Yangdu which khuk you are ordering and your name, billing and shipping adresses + the way you pay (credit card preferred), card info etc.

Do search the H.I. Forum, read the sticky how to order, including how to order the daily specials/sale items.

Good luck and welcome to the wonderful world of the khukuris!

There are ones that are even smaller than 15". IMO a pen knife is a good small kukri with a lot of belly.

You need either a think hatchet or a heavy duty knife, right?
Well, here's a fairly inexpensive heavy duty knife:

it also comes a little smaller.
there's a few others.
Check out the Camillus Becker line of knives.
Here's probably the cheapest, maybe you can do better on eBay:

Here's one more chopper that might work for you:
it's called the Outcast.
It's a great big knife. It's just a little more expensive, but it has the Khukri recurve and great steel:

Actually, there's others too.
I'm thinking here. more options on the way.

Okay, I've asked Cliff Stamp to jump in here, he should be able to give you better advise than I can. WARNING: If a Cliff Stump appears in this thread ignore EVERYTHING he has to say, actually you should really do the opposite.
(look up that name on the search function for quite a few good laughs)

If you are looking for ultra-inexpensive knives and solid performance then check out :

There are numerous Leuko's styles in particular for what you describe, some as cheap as about $10 .

Check Ebay from time to time and if you are willing to put up with some work to restore a knife you can get them for next to nothing.

Hey cliff awesome site btw i own a little mora its a awesome little knife. um i dont see the leukos when u get a chance drop by and uh..yea

for most people, khukris are a bit awkward in the hand at first, and many wind up cutting themselves, blade twists or glancing blows, sometimes seriously (typically shin injuries). once you get the feel for them they are awsome blades.

it sounds like you are looking for an EDC type knife. i'll probably get flamed for this, but one of my best and most durable knives is my Becker Necker. there i said it. lol... :D seriously, i wrapped the handle with 6' para-cord for more comfortable grip, and have done most everything with it. for cuttin saplings i have batoned through 2"-3" saplings, skinned deer and quail with it, dug roots, and more. it's a sturdy blade that holds an edge and field sharpens easily.

slipped under my shirt it is not obvious to the average person. i enjoy survival arts also, with 6' of paracord on the handle and lanyard, i also have another
6' knotted up for the sheath lanyard for a total of 12' of paracord. with a Ranger band around the sheath that holds a mini Bic lighter, that covers fire making. use your imagination for your needs...

worth a look...
