I have been searching liners and scales but can't find a thread about the process.

It this the basic process?

1)Glue liner to scales...CA is a good product for this. Use plastic wrap around a couple pieces of wood backers to clamp up and keep the scales and liner from sticking to them???

2) Drill and cut liner to fit tang and glue and pin on using slow set epoxy.

Right?
Thanks.

I use g flex for my liners. I lay some parchment paper on a flat piece of steel and clamp the liner and scale to it. Then I drill and cut them to fit the tang like you stated.

One thing to avoid as a newbie is over-clamping. Use only the degree of pressure needed to keep the scales and liners in place. Over-clamping can squeeze out all the glue/resin and create a glue starved joint that can suddenly fail with a shock. I like the $0.50 tiny spring clamps from HF. Roughing up the surfaces also helps.
