NEWB Question about the store

Double cut seems to be the favorite in terms of appearance after hard use. I agree with that. It wears real well. Satin is great. It can scratch but you can sand out scratches if that matters to you. Coatings will wear out. They aren't bad and do protect your knife. I strip mine usually and like the raw INFI look.

Satin and DC are usually about the same cost. DC is near a satin finish then blasted to finish.

thanx for the info, is double or satin extra $?

Volk, when Skunk said these were special show prices, he meant it. Past satin blades have been in the $217 to $237 range, and these prices were for much thinner blades (.140" to .170"). These fatty satin Wardens are going to come in at .220". More steel usually means more $$, but not in this case.

Absolutely, incontrovertibly true. Oinked that out right off!!

I'd also like to take this opportunity, as my stamina fades to zero, to salute the small, but rabid horde of new Busse Addicts who just stomped my old, gray head into the mud in front of the trough.

[Sorry, no 'saluting smilies' were available!]

Thats why I just had to buy one, There were GW in the store before, but satin .22, sounded just to good a chance to pass buy. I'm not sure which I'm happier with so far the badger, or the GW. I think I may have a $200 commission coming in, if that happens I'm surely keeping both.

It it's one I'm going to use, I normally strop it whether it needs it or not. I haven't reprofiled edges as others have. They have been coming pretty darn sharp out of the shop lately.

What are you going to do with it? Of course we can't tell you if you're going to want to sharpen it. Lately they have come from the shop with IMO very good edges. A while back some of the game wardens did not!

If you don't like the profile or level of polish, you may find you want to adjust before using. I bet you won't need to do a thing to it!
