Newb to Spyderco. Eyeing the Para 2.

No, they are just popular.
Create an account on the knife selling website of your choice, and (if it's an option) sign up for email alerts when the PM2 is available.

I'd advise against trying to land one on "the bay" since you're not very familiar with the knife's details and there are fakes and knockoffs out there.

I've been trying to educate myself on the differences between the clones and the real deal. I guess eBay's willingness to throw sellers to the wolves would come in handy here if I got a fake. ;)

Are these knives typically ~$130 when in stock?

Also, what are the "Sprint" runs?

Thanks guys.

I just bought one today at Howe's Knife Shop online. I think they're a forum sponsor, so have at it.

Actually eBay will not give a rats behind if you get burnt with a fake. Buying one from one of the many BF's dealers is you're best bet. Good luck,it's a great knife.

If it's listed as a legit knife and you get a fake then yes, the bay will get your money back. Just have to watch the wording and make sure they don't say something like 'para military 2 style knife'.

Still though, I'd recommend our exchange or dealers first.

Thanks for that heads up. I just got on the list for the C81GPCMOBK2.

If you're looking for someone selling this knife, it will be easier for them to get in touch with you if you enable e-mailing in your account, I think.

I know that, in the past, I've gotten random emails from people who had knives I was looking for, when I made a thread asking a question about the knife in particular.

Well, I wound up picking up the Digicam with the Satin blade. I'll probably acid etch the blade and then throw it in the tumbler. I'll pick up the DLC coated version when it comes back in stock.

On eBay this guy is a good seller. [Removed Ebay Link]

Would you mind PMing me the link to a dealer you trust?

Exactly. eBay only cares about their buyers. Sellers are given the rough end of the stick.

Changed my settings.

Does anyone know if the s35v Brown PM2 is a regular production knife?

Or how do we know when PM2 sprints are ran?

I would love an unusual PM2 but only if under the $150 range.

Never buy from Epray, never never never. Its great for looking ad browsing, but not for buying. Never never never!!!

There I've done my civic duty for the day.

Stop eyeing, start buying! Can't go wrong with the PM2, they just got everything right with this design.

The brown PM2 is not production, it was a distributor exclusive, so it was found from more sources than some of the other exclusives.

I do believe that Sal has stated that they are backing off doing more PM2 sprints to focus more on regular production knives. Even then, sprints are never on any sort of schedule that anyone can discern. Dealer/distributor exclusives are commissioned by the dealer, and one of those is more likely at this point (there was recently an ELMAX run). $150 would be the basement for a special PM2 run, and you'll never find (a new) one that low on the secondary market.

Brown PM2 with s35v is a sprint run/limited edition. You might be able to get one from the exchange for about $190

Don't buy a Spyderco on eBay.
These knives are still in production and you should definitely buy one. You will not be disappointed. There is an overpriced online place in CA that has them in stock. I usually shop Knifeworks, first and foremost. You may have to wait as these are in high demand, and for good reason. It is that good.

It should be noted that there are many reputable sellers on the bay so rather than say never to buy on there we should instead say to use extreme caution. When you see Joe Blow with a 'Para military 2 style knife' listed buy it now for $79 don't think you're getting an amazing deal. Be smart and you'll be fine!

BladeHQ usually have them although it's usually a bit more.
Yeah, too many clones out there, you wouldnt want to risk it.
