  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Newb to Spyderco. Eyeing the Para 2.

thanks for all the replies guys! a buddy at work as the all black pm2, and I love it! compared to my Tenacious, well, there is no comparison. the jimping on the pm2 has got to be the best in the world. its super aggressive without being uncomfortable. if you look at it closely, the jimping on the thumb ramp is angled back kind of like shark skin but the rest of the jimping on the knife is not angled. they really put a lot of thought into that part of the knife, and it really takes the knife up to a higher standard. since I can't get the brown one, i might just go for the multi cam with satin blade.

Maybe I've just been lucky, but I've had good luck with several ebay sellers. Read their feedback, check their return policy. That said, the PM2 is probably one of the more risky purchases because it's so popular and there are many known counterfeits out there. BTW it's hands down my favorite knife.

The Para 2 is my favorite Spydie. The knife has great ergonomics.

I'd recommend only buying it from well known retailers though. As stated above, because of it's popularity there are a number of counterfeits out there.

I watched a video on YT yesterday about spotting fakes. the new fakes are INSANELY close. you almost have to get the microscope out. Most of the difference are in the grind marks and the fit and finish of the knife. Buy from US based and recognizable companies only. It may cost you 10 more bucks, but its worth it to know you are getting the real deal.

No, they are just popular.
Create an account on the knife selling website of your choice, and (if it's an option) sign up for email alerts when the PM2 is available.

I'd advise against trying to land one on "the bay" since you're not very familiar with the knife's details and there are fakes and knockoffs out there.

Hey, is there a way to set up model specific or search term alerts on the Exchange? I looked one day and didn't see that option. Best I've found is Tapatalk, but that only shows new posts in general for a forum.

Nope, tapatalk is your best bet as of now. The notifications really started irritating me (their frequency) so I ended up turning them off. I just check the exchange fairly often when my pocket permits.
