Just ordered a Commander and a CQC7A from Bayou Lafourche knifeworks (Roger is a class act). I've had Microtechs, Benchmades and Spydies for a while. The MT's are nice, but aren't "working" knives-almost like artwork. I liked the Emersons because they are meant to be used, which is why one carries a knife in the first place!
I do have a few questions-
How good is the Black T coating on the knives? I know MT's is pretty good and BM's is sorry. I had a BM CQC7 a while back that was pretty good, but they have changed it to something "softer" since.
What is the factory lube at Emerson? I know spydie uses tuf-glide, BM uses militech-1 and MT uses rem-oil.
I have heard of some QC issues-was that in the first batch, or just every now and then? What are the problem areas to look for?
