Was wondering if anyone can tell me how this happened. There are a couple divots there, not sure how they got there.
Never mind, you have to be a rocket scientist to post photos

As you can see I was moving up in grits and there is this stubborn area I can't seem to affect at all. And three good sized football shaped divots.
 
How did you do them? If belt grinding i would say by digging in the edge of the belt. Same thing if using a disk grinder.

To get rid off the divots remember you are not grinding the divots you are removing everything surrounding the divots.

Try putting more pressure down by the edge when you are grinding.
