Well after much thought fueled by good forum input and a decisive glance from my dog (she's really good at making up my mind), this is what I ordered. WWII 18" Chiruwa style handle.
This is a general question about what
kind of blade grinds the Kamis use on the
Khukris they produce. Do they tend to stay
with one type? Ex. flat grind, saber grind,
hollow grind? Certainly they're capable of
more complex grinds, as you folks pointed
out the Yvsa Cherokee Spec is fullered.
Does it vary only between Khukris and say,
swords they produce?
Lastly, what about the final cutting
edge of the blade(regardless of the grind). Cantled, rolled...?

:
Bill the edge does depend on the type of khukuri to an extent and are saber ground.
I don't know about the swords as I haven't seen any yet.

The edge bevels are coming in much more flat than they once were with some actually being slightly hollow ground rounding over into a slightly convex cutting edge, at least that's been my experience.
I can "see" maybe 0.020" under a scale laid on my YCS's edge bevel about centered showing the slight hollow grind.
The small convex cutting edge makes the hollow ground bevel stronger IMO.

IIRC the edge on my AK Bowie is more convex the full width of the edge bevel, I will have to look to make sure and would, but I'm to lazy to dig the keys out and unlock my toolbox right now.

Where the edge bevel is wide and thick enough at the top so that not a lot of steel is wasted I have been reprofileing my khukuris into the true full or as full as possible whole width convex edge they once automatically came with. The thinner ones will automatically become more convexed the more they're sharpened over the years.

I haven't done my YCS as yet since it seems to be pretty satisfactory where it's at right now.
More chopping in the spring on softer woods like Mulberry, Cottonwood and Sycamore will tell me if anything more needs done with it for improvement. Oh and to give you an idea of the different widths of the whole edge bevel the one on my YCS is 13/16" wide!!!!

For me the convex edge is more easily maintained in use.
I believe it's the natural action of the wrist and hand pushing the hone away from the edge that makes it easier for almost anyone to get, at least it works for me.

I hope this helped to answer your question and if it didn't please don't hesitate to ask for what I may have left out.
