Need to tighten the 'ole purse strings... :grumpy:
Hi Gentleman Bob!

When you're tuggin' on them purse strings be sure to save enough strength to pick up a spare letter "d" and toss it in your location (King_om???);)

Welcome to the pack!!!

Well spotted ;)

"d"s I got plenty of............ :D :D :D

Woohoo!!!!

Fun. Fun.. FUN!!! :D :D :D

Well gentlemen, guess what turned up in the post today ;)

I really don't have the time right now for any in depth review/remarks etc as I'm off to the French Alps in just a couple of hours to try and buy an apartment out there and I'm fairly sure the airline won't appreciate the finer points of S.A.T. in flight..... :D

What I will say is that the thing is exactly as advertised - a rare treat these days - and as I know you lot are already aware, it is a genuine one-handed operation and for me as a lefty that is a right result!

Happy days..

Thats great, :) I'm sure you will love it. The flash II is a great knife, mine has never failed me, nor do I believe it ever will.;) Just out of curiosity, who did you end up buying it from?

WoooHooo, post number 200.:D

OK. Back from jolly old Francaise, lovely in the Alps this time of year....

Anyways, a couple of thoughts on my new Flash II;

I was quite surprised at how light it is, I suppose I didn't think about the Zytel handle :o and at first I thought I'd just bought a very expensive toy (and not in a good way).

However, now that I've spent a little time using the thing I'm seeing the quality and thought that went into it. It feels very well balanced and the ergo's seem bang on, once opened the handle shape and finger cut-outs (sorry for the bad terminology) suit my hand perfectly.

It was definately the right decision to buy the larger model, I wanted a 'proper' knife and that is exactly what this is :)

All in all - well pleased and would gladly recommend to others.

Socintel - I bought the knife from a mail order place here in the UK. Heinnie Haynes Online. First class service from them, bought 3 items, all in stock, 48 hours all in.

Job's a good 'un. :D

I feel I should add a little oil to the knife. Is this the right thing to do, and what oil should I use?

Yup, the flash II is top-notch quality.:) Glad to hear you like it (not at all surprised though:D). As for oiling, believe it or not I have not yet oiled mine. It still is working fine though. Robbie might be able to answer this question for you, he has a little more experience than me.;)

Add some light machine oil in pivot area, the thinner the oil is the better, It really helps make it smoother. :D

Careful though, I have heard of knives getting so fast from oiling that they jump right out of your hand and stick in the wall..........

Not really.............. :p :D

Robbie Roberson ;)

:D :D :D :D :D

Curiously, I heard that if you left your SOG alone in the garage for long enough, it would service your car for you.... ;) :D
