Hello Y'all,
Im Poppy from Texas. I found this forum googling sharpening. I recently purchased a Work Sharp sharpening machine to sharpen my scissors. I own a Upholstery Shop in Lubbock Texas. I have 12 employees who all posses scissors. Our scissors cost around $100 a pair. The Work Sharp sharpens scissors at a 65 degree angle. This is perfect for our Kai scissors, but we have a lot of Wiss scissors that have a different angle. I also have a wetstone sharpener and a Dayton MODEL# 2Z646A 1" belt sander. I feel like I need a instrument to measure the angle on the scissors and a instrument to adjust my sharpeners for that angle. What do Y'all suggest, and where can I buy these instruments? I have done a search on scissors on the forum and all I could find was a thread about hair shears. Forgive me if I over looked a thread that explains this.

G'day and welcome to the forums.

I am not 100% certain but forum member Fred Rowe might have a device which can be used to measure the angle and finish the edge after sharpening. I am talking about the ERU. I'm hoping someone with more experience will jump in to answer too :)

There are also a number of guided sharpening systems on yhe market which can give you very precise angles. I'm sure good suggestions will follow shortly :)

Google "angle cube digital level"
It might help...it's great for knife-blades...
I have used the iGage Angle cube...but NOT for scissors...

Why in the world did you purchase a Worksharp to sharpen scissors? Feel free to email me. You need some serious advice.

I would suggest the Tormek T7 wet grinder with the scissor attachment or the Edge Pro with the scissor attachment.

Indeed, the Tormek T7 is also what i use to sharpen scissors, both for a few fashion design studio's as well as for a contingent of soccer moms & senior citizens in my area.
For measuring both knife & scissor edges i use the Tormek WM200:

Found that gauge on ebay and bought it. Looks like just what I need! Thanks!!!
