Hello,

I just joined yesterday. EDC is a big hobby of mine and it all started with knives.
Started with a Gerber Propel AO. Then moved right into a ZT0350. The build quality of those are outstanding. I recently sold that and moved into a lighter knife, a SOG Aegis. I recently ordered a ZT0450cf and am really excited about that. Other than those I have a few solid pens, Griffin pocket tool, and a spin top. Debating on carrying a flashlight.
Recently learned how to sharpen my own knives and that just made me enjoy them even more.
I always wanted a Sebenza and there are so many here. So very tempting.

Just saying hi and I love the site so far! [emoji106]

Welcome aboard. Good selection you have made with knives. May I suggest for pocket;keychain carry a Fenix E05 flashlight. I've carried one for years and it is great and just a handy as a good pocket knife.

Welcome and be sure to visit the CRK forum if you would like to learn more on the Sebenza

Thanks for the welcomes and recommendations. I'm very close now to grabbing that Felix flashlight lol

Welcome to the madness ! Hide your wallet and hang on :D

Kidding aside , there are lots of friendly and helpful folks here and lots of great sub-forums to check out as others have mentioned . Enjoy !

Greetings, and welcome. That's quite a jump, going straight from Gerber to ZT. I guess you learn quickly. :)

Welcome to the Forum! Good to have you aboard.

Depending on who you are, and what you do, certain EDC items may be necessary. For me, the flashlight and a good multi-tool are both necessities. Here's my typical EDC (the only things not shown would be the SAK Cadet in my pocket, a handkerchief, Blistex, and a small Bic lighter, and my phone, which is taking the pic, of course):

I also integrate a small-to-medium fixed blade into the mix quite often:

The pistol comes with me everywhere (because I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it!).

Welcome... you found a great place to be that,s for sure....... Enjoy ;)

Welcome! It sounds like the knife addiction is slowly taking over your body. :D You should really enjoy the 0450CF, very nice little knife! I had the original Ti version...great flipper.

I carry a AAA Maratac flashlight clipped to my left front pocket daily. You don't realize how much you will use a flashlight daily until you carry one.

The pistol comes with me everywhere (because I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it!).

Amen to that...same here!

This is so true. Just as an example, me and the wifey were at Outback last night, and the lady in the booth next to us spilled her purse onto the ground under her table (how, I have no idea). Well, it's dark under tables in restaurants at night. So I whipped out my Olight S15 Baton and lit up the floor - KAPOW! It's like sunshine in a pocket! She found every last penny by the time she was done, and enthusiastically thanked me.

Another example, from a couple months ago, I was at a wedding when some drunk girl dancing barefoot (imagine that!) dropped her wine glass on the dance floor. Again, a dark floor at night. I broke out my FourSevens Preon 2 and KAPOW - the floor is lit up, and the staff was easily able to clean up all the glass. Everyone was very appreciative.

And I could go on because this kinda stuff happens all the time - you just don't notice it so much if you don't carry a flashlight.

Welcome! I find my daily carry to be best with a rough use knife, usually my Opinel or Sodbuster, my go to knife, usually a stockman or Jackknife, a bandana for all kinds of stuff, a lighter (I smoke but it has other uses), and if I'm going out I have my keys with a SAK executive and 4 way screwdriver. I try to carry a MT of some sort as well, either a SAK camper or my leatherman Fuse or Rev. Fuse is off to the factory atm so the Rev is just the stand in. I find myself carrying my Mora fixed blade more and more each day even if I'm not working, but am going to buy a Becker Necker to repalace it for EDC use.
If it came down to it, my most useful and dependable combo would be a SAK camper and Mora.
I've always got a pencil and spare lighter in my winter coat, which I wear three seasons a year or so.

This was after a day at work.

Welcome! Nice start to your collection. Like you I have found myself buying knives and keeping the ones I like and selling or trading the others. Luckily, they hold most of their value.

I find myself needing a flashlight a lot more since I am getting older, they old eyes aren't what they used to be. The fenix EO1 is a fantastic small flashlight, wont light up a room, but it will help me read a menu in a dark restaurant, find something in the back of a dark closet etc.

Welcome friend!

Check out kizer knives. Best bang for buck and excellent build quality.

As for flashlights, I really love nitecore brand. I carry the nightblade in my bag daily

Welcome! A flashlight isn't always a must for me, but I do like to carry my fenixE05. Its the perfect size has gives off enough light to actually be useful.

Those are beautiful sets!!

Well I lied a bit. I actually started with a few cheap Gerber knives before the Propel. The Propel was my first assisted flipper and once I learned more about those, my eyes were wide opened to the rest of the knife world and quickly learned that ZT was one of the more respected ones. As soon as I had my hands on one, I was instantly blown away.

In terms of EDCs, what I've found is that you don't really realize how handy an EDC item is until you actually carry it around daily. Having said that, you have all convinced me enough that I'll be giving the Fenix E05 a go (thanks for the recommendation). Was already looking at the Maratac but there seems to be some good deals on the Fenix on Amazon.
I have a Keybar on order as well to tidy up my keys. I have a few more pens on order (hobby pens). I carry a cheapo multi tool around in my bag which I may upgrade.
This forum is just fueling my addiction. Geez, thanks guys :D

Here is the closest I have to a pocket dump pic. My SOG is in there:

And the two knives which are gone but not forgotten:

I'm quite tempted by Maratac's copper light, actually.
