Hello everyone!

I am new here and so far I am loving this forum!

I am first and foremost a gun nut through and through but have always had a special place in my heart for quality blades! Well, that passion has only grown in the past years and I thought I owe it to myself to become at least half-way educated about the world of edged tools.

So far I am loving this forum, but am having a hard time finding comprehensive, objective information about all the popular steels out there, edge geometry, angle characteristics, and other knife basics. Will someone please point me in the right direction?

head over and read all the stickies that look like what you want to know in maintinence and tinkering. after that, find ankerson's thread on different steels and their performances. after that, if you still have questions, start asking about specific stuff you want to know. those 2 places will at least get you up to speed on steel.
