The thin liners that are placed in between the tang and handles... I see them in different colors etc.

Where do you buy them? What are they called? Are they made out of Micarta? Home made? What materials are best to use for them?

Thanks!

There is Vulcanized Fiber liner material, which can be found at practically any of the online knife supplies. Many people don't like this stuff though. It's cheap, but also really flexible and prone to moisture changes etc shenanigans.

I haven't heard a bad thing about the thin G10 that Alpha Knife Supply sells. That's where I would look - just make sure you rough up the surfaces prior to glue-up.

As Don said, stay away from the Vulcanized material. It is junk. Alpha and USAknifemaker.com sells thin G10 for liners.

Let me add my 2 cents on vulcanized fiber shrinking take jawwilders advice.

G10 from Alpha all the way!!
