Newbie needs advice on small utility-type folder

Thanks for the advice Don, I'll admit, I want a knife that is functional but also has a certain style. The stockman knives, while practical, just aren't exactly what I'm looking for. I have a small swiss army knife that I carry on my keychain but it can't do some of the bigger stuff I need done sometimes which is why I want something a little bit bigger.

Sounds like your sold on the benchmade just because of the axis lock. They are a very good knife, just hope you don't have problems w/ the omega spring

If you have the $ I would get a microtech over the rest - they are excellent knives

The CRKT is a good knife - I really like the carson flipper on the M16 because it speeds up the opening process and acts as a very nice guard between your hand and the blade - you can get them w/ and AUS8 blade too

Spiderco delica is a very good choice also.

Gerber offers some very high quality knives as well.

If your opening up packages all day your going to want a blade that will hold and edge well.
There are many choices out there, I think you just have to hold and operate them yourself before you choose-your preference:)
