Hello everyone and if I am posting in the wrong area I apologize up front..... I need help finding the model name/number of a Buck I carried in the Army (non-issue). It was a fixed blade with a heavy serrated back bone, rubber grip and came with a camo nylon sheath. The best I can recall I bought this knife in the 80's.

I don't have much more info other than the blade was or seemed to be bead blasted and the drop point had a false edge.

Thanks for any help you guys might do and glad to be a member.

Might it have been the Buck 184 Buckmaster?

Had a heavy spine serration, but the handles were metal from what I recall.

It was pretty popular in the 80s.

Also could have been the Buck 639... it had rubber handle and spine serrations. Kinda betting it was the 639.

Google those and see if it's what you had.

Sounds like a 639.

Sure does, TLE.

Prices on these weirds me out. There was one on the exchange not long ago, went for like $60.

NIB one on big auction site, asking $289. Another guy with a beat up one with no sheath for $37.

I should pick up the beater and send it over to you for a premium edge job, that's for sure.

I remember those from back in the day. Should not be too pricey now.

Sounds like a plan.
