Ok guys, I am gonna put myself out there and show my 6th. Blade is an old file, guard is an old brass candlestick, and handle is a recycled walnut plaque. Cost of materials...about five bucks. Labor cost.....no labor at all...many hours of pure joy !:o I think I am ready to move up to known good steel on my next effort but do not know a lot about quality blade steel. Any recommendations ? thanks in advance

OOps ....Obvioiusly I don't know much about uploading pics either....let me see if I can figure that out

ok...I managed to get a picture added but the photo quality is not all that good....I have been reading up on how some of you guys set up photo studios and I plan to improve in that department as well. Thanks

Looks good drlozier as for blade stock read some older posts. Alot of new makers ask that question. Are you planning on doing the heat treat or sending them out? That could help determine what steel to choose.

well, use your knife and adjust your design to your findings (or don't if it feels good)
My guess is you want to lose the finger coils, or only keep one for the indexfinger

Thanks, actually I made a mold of my own fingers and thumb with clay to get the grip exactly like I wanted....it works for me but I agree, someone else using it may not like it....thanks for the feedback !!
