Newbie Question - What's an AFCK?

There were several custom AFCKs made, that Russian knifeknuts (me included) comissioned to a local maker.

If I remember right AFCK was first the Advanced Fighting Combat Knife which was just to badazz for most consumers. So then they changed its' meaning to Advanced Folding Combat Knife which was better but still too edgy for a lot of the Cali hippies. Finally they ended up with Advanced Folding Camping Knife which made all the tree hugger, granola-eating, anti-war weenies happy.

I know what you mean - I prefer the drop point and thumb studs of the TSEK to the AFCK.

Thanks for posting the photos of both. I agree, the TSEK is more to my liking, esp. the drop point. Plus, the hole on the AFCK does look kind of big.

All I know is if Benchmade starting making them again, they'd make a fortune.

Current Ebay prices certainly support this comment---have you seen what some of the limited edition ones are being offered for?

I love my AFCK, but I don't think I'll spend $600 for one, no matter how special the production run it came from!

i wonder why they discontinued it i mean i heard it was one of their best sellers, it would be like Spyderco discontinuing their Delica's or Endura's

Lenny, I know those knives in the photos are AFCK 'look-likes' but they're still really nice knives!

Well, Spyderco discontinued the Manix. Who knows? Maybe these sorts of knives only sell well in the world of knife-lovers and not on Main Street.

Doesn't Main Street go to Big 5 and buy a $15 knife?
