Well I have been lurking here for a while before actually signing up.
Mainly so I can use the search button.

I've got a couple folders under my belt.
I made one friction folder first.

Now I have search and searched this but can't find a answer.
I would like to etch my first blade rather than a satin finish.

Here's my questions.
#1 I would like my stainless steel hardware on the knife to match the blade. Can I etch it???
Will it hurt the threads???

#2 I build lock backs so the locking bar will need etched to match.
Will it hurt that too??

#3 do I need to put nail polish on the areas... Like pivot points and such?

Thanks for any help.

I do have the radio shack PCB but do I need to cut it for a light etch?
I am sanding everything down to 600 grit.
Any other tips are welcome!

I can see this question is a stumbling block I guess with all the views and no answers.
I guess that's why I didn't find it googling or in the search.

I'll try to post pics if I do it with maybe some pros and cons...

Sorry,

I don't etch blades or fixings but will gladly launch your question back to the top. It sounds like you have a legitimate question.

Please post the photos you referred to.

Mike
