Newbie Question

seems as though i have handled that particular rc6 before.....now where did i see that before...hmmmmm....you two should just move in together and share knives....it would save on shipping back and forth....lol....

just think if ya'll could find a duplex near lake stubblefield......it would be the texas rat paradise

Shotgunners need to move farther north than that....
Can't wait until RFII

no they can't then they would be to far for me to visit.....lol.....they are already 1.5 hrs away...besides don't you know anything north of houston makes you a yankee......lol....Brother i cant wait for rf2 either...it is gonna be a blast

you poor ,poor yankee.....it is never to late to move south......;)

I have not seen anything down south except illegals & Traffic 2 things I am not fond of :D
atleast I have alot less Traffic in my area ;)
Guess we better quit side tracking this thread

Regarding the 1095 and humidity thing, where I am, it seems like my gear is always wet, but I've never had a problem with my RAT knives rusting. The coating works great, and an occasional wipe with oil seems to work plenty to keep the edge rust free

I carried my 3 and Izula on the beach fishing in Oz, and had no problems, just a rinse off each night. I do need to check under the wrapping on the izula at some point, but I'm not that worried.

Ofcourse, but he said he wanted to use it for EDC and camping/survival stuff. The RC-3 is the only knife that is big enough to use for camping, but also small enough for EDC. The RC-4 is too big for EDC, and the Izula too small for camping.

I'm in the woods every day. I carry my rc-5 everyday :D

You'd be happy with any of the knives you mentioned. Got any more specific requirements for the knife? Might be able to make a better recommendation with more info. Other than that it's pretty much preference.

I don't own any Busse knives but I can tell you that RAT makes a high quality product that you can depend on.

By the way, just in case you didn't notice the rc-5 is 1/4" thick and the 3 and 4 are 3/16"

3 is thinner than the 4

Based on what you want to do, I would reccomend getting the RC-4 for camping and the IZULA for EDC.

You'll end up liking the IZULA so much for ECD, you will carry both the RC-4 and IZULA when you're out camping. That's what I did and I am very happy with the pair!

No one blade does all things well. Trying to use only one blade for everything is OK, but you can do much better using blades suited for each task.

i just ordered a rc-5 ive had tops but i broke one of them so i am trying this one too see if it will hold up to a deployment

I'd go RC-3 unless for "EDC" you mean in your pack you carry with you. You'll have both before long anyway.
